About the Office

The Regional Office for Europe (ROE) is the voice of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) in the European region. Its main goal is to provide guidance to governments, and actively engage in and facilitate the ongoing dialogue between the civil society, the private sector and governmental authorities, on environmental issues. UNEP ROE encourages closer cooperation between the main actors in the region, provides expertise in problems facing Europe’s environment, and undertakes awareness-raising campaigns, giving Europeans the chance to act, towards a greener, cleaner, more environmentally-oriented Europe.

UNEP ROE is working in the region on seven priority areas: Climate Change, Disasters and Conflicts, Ecosystems Management, Environmental Governance, Chemicals and Waste, Resource Efficiency, and Environment under Review. The Regional Office for Europe is located in Geneva and has offices in Brussels, Moscow, Sarajevo, and Vienna.
