Co2 Level Script on Front of Billion Tree Campaign sent by Co2 Level Script on Front of Billion Tree Campaign

anyone knows the most accurate data of CO2 levels and of TOTAL conc of Greenhouse gases and then put this current data on the frontpage using a simple script, so we see when we are heading towards 6 times over Greenhouse Gases (Permafrost in Sibiria has 70 Billion m3 Methane Gas = Greenhouse Gas, obviously NOT CO2!!!!!!!!!!

Irrigation, agriculture - Puquan water bag sent by Diversity
26/08/2007
This sounds a great idea, I hope it gets taken up a lot and does not cost too much to buy into. Here in New Zealand we have had a good rainfall except in rain shadow areas but the climate changes are causing small droughts, not as big as those in Australia though, (which have just been broken). But our big earner here is dairy products and our cows eat grass which is a natural, more healthy and cost effective feed but we tend to spray water on our pastures and waste it. The latest trend is to irrigate from ground water reserves sometimes from very old formed aquifers to grow grass in otherwise dry areas. Puquan water bags are a better way to go for trees, and not water wasteful as we in NZ often are. By the way have you read about Wendy Campbell Purdie and how she got thousands (130,000 approx) of trees planted on the edge of deserts, with minimal water. Can see about her on internet at Environment - Tree of Life or www.primitivism where article quoted from Living Earth. Also UNESCO report Taking the Pulse of the Planet Can read her book Woman against the desert , and there is a Man against the desert.

Trees, fire and human firestarters sent by Diversity
26/08/2007
I made a note about arsons and male firestarters on 31 July and its relevance has been underlined by the Greek forest fire tragedy. 200 fires at once brought the country to its knees and had to request international help for firefighters, numerous people died and thousands lost valuable possessions and food sources and, old-growth trees. In the mid 1900's there were fires set in forests on a European island, naming no names, because the men there wanted aid money which was available for planting new forests! Tree planting needs to go hand in hand with including the local men so that they have a sense of guardianship and they have status from caring for the trees and keeping them safe or using to ensure sustainability.

Carbon Dioxide and 1M Trees - Kennedy sent by Diversity
31/07/2007
Your info sounds factual and accurate, good to access as we get so much emotional opinion. There is a factor that can wipe the achievement of gaining this green cover - that is that the frequently observed actions of many individual males with obsessions that drive them to destroy forests either as deliberate fire starters for anti-social or personal financial advantage, or as illegal foresters for the same financial advantage. Fire can wipe out huge tracts and decades of tireless work in hours and days. The socialisation and education of young males and assisting parents to learn how to guide and support their children is a necessary adjunct to tree planting when our world and our lives are at stake.
