Teachers + Students dig in trees!!! sent by Teach Ar
29/09/2007
keep in mind that each school has 1000 students and at least 50 staff and they are there ALL THE TIME.
Tree planting from Tree Seeds and Cutting can be integrated into ALL level Yr 0 - Yr 13 very easily.

Students can grow trees for the school, the reserves around the schools and most important they can take trees HOME....thats another 5000 or so trees more that each school can get out of the door.
Teachers / Teaching Staff simply take plastic containers and put 5 holes at the bottom and fill the plastic containers with soli = dirt from the caretaker.
Cost for the school: 0.00 US$ = ZERO !!!!!
The receptionist or the librarian can collevt the tree seeds on the weekend and the teachers do the work with their 30 students..= 30 workers!!!!!!!!!!

TREES OUR SURVIVAL sent by GREEN WARRIORS MOVEMENT
21/08/2007
From a holistic perspective, trees are our survival on the planet! This is because we all depend on them for food, shelter and everything else we need. Wide research has shown that the forest cover over the world is a third less what it used to be! This is a harsh reality which has brought about Climate Change with many subsequent negative effects. In light of this; we need to harness our energies and plant many trees for a brighter future because in actual fact trees are our survival.

National Arbor Week is celebrated by planting lots of trees. it has extensive interest and is perhaps the most popular environmental day in our country. KZN Agriculture and Environmental Affairs(eThekwini office) has initiated a campaign called Zero Carbon Initiatives to increase awareness on the importance of reducing carbon emissions and not just plant trees.
