Pacific Islands SIDS Environment Outlook. Special Edition for the International Meeting for the 10-year Review of the Barbados Programme of Action

The Small Island Developing States Environment Outlook series is an associated GEO report series. UNEP published the first SIDS environment outlook (EO) in 1999 coordinated by the Global Environment Outlook Section of the Division of Early Warning and Assessment (DEWA), Nairobi. The SIDS environment outlook reports contribute to the Review of Implementation of the Barbados Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of SIDS (BPoA +10). The reports highlight priority environmental issues in SIDS namely; loss of biodiversity, land degradation, lack of and threats to freshwater resources, degradation of coastal environments, as well as land and sea based waste pollution among other issues. Also available in Spanish. (Refer to Job No. DEW/0613/NA)
