  • 90 per cent of wastewater produced daily in developing countries is discharged untreated in water ways,
    threatening the health of local communities and damaging the environment


  • Marine litter is the largest downstream cost of plastic pollution, plastic waste causes damage
    of US$ 13 Billion to marine ecosystem each year and this figure is largely a significant underestimate.


  • Nutrient runoff causes costal euthrophication zones of severely reduced dissolved oxygen
    and depleted aquatic life also known as "dead zones". Over 400 dead zones
    have been identified in costal areas.
