“In order to stimulate debate and considerations over the development and implementation of law and environmental policies and to promote the implementation and fulfillment of environmental multilateral agreements, the Latin American Regional Seminar on Law and Environmental Policies’ Training took place in Panama City from July 25 to August 5 2005. Delegates from different countries of this hemisphere attended the seminar.
This training initiative, organized by UNEP, took place over a period of two weeks, and the goal was to form qualified law operators, who are able to carry out this specialized knowledge to solve legal aspects of environmental conflicts and eventualities.
The seminar was one of the first efforts being made to interchange information and experiences on the development of law instruments and legal frames to protect the environment and natural resources in the countries of this region."
