From 14 till 16 November 2006, a National Workshop on Environmental Law Enforcement took place in Sana'a, the capital of Yemen.
The meeting was organized by two Divisions of UNEP: its Regional Office in Bahrein (ROWA) and the Division of Environmental Law and Conventions (DELC), together with the Yemeni Ministry of Water and Environment and the Yemeni Lawyers syndicate. The meeting discussed and addressed environmental law enforcement in general and the lack of environmental law enforcement in Yemen in specific.
To conclude, the participants issued a set of recommendations aiming to strengthen environmental law enforcement in Yemen. |
