UNEP 2003 Annual Report

 | This report details how UNEP has worked
throughout the year with all stakeholders to
promote more effective protection and sustainable
use of the global environment. The year got off to
a very positive start with the 22nd UNEP
Governing Council / Global Ministerial
Environment Forum, held in early February at
UNEP’s headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. The level
of attendance, the intensity of the negotiations and
the fruitful outcome of the meeting underlined the
growing recognition of the importance of the
environment for sustainable development among
the world’s governments. |
