The UNEP Pavilion at Rio+20 will showcase the theme of Green Economy and sustainable development in the context of poverty eradication. Located at Athletes Park, the Pavilion will be open to delegates and the public from 13 to 24 June 2012, with the exception of the period of the conference from 20 to 22 June when it will only be open to delegates. With the support of key partners - The Environment Agency of Abu Dhabi, Eye on Earth, Microsoft and Siemens, - visitors can experience the Green Economy with an emphasis on youth and employment, socially responsible enterprise, role of governments, private sector and civil society.
Demonstrating science as the key issue underpinning action towards delivering sustainable development, the Pavilion also celebrates four decades of policy-making and environmental law since the Stockholm conference on the Human Environment in 1972.
In addition, the UNEP Pavilion offers a large auditorium facility, with seating capacity for 100 persons, that will feature a range of side events, as well as two meeting rooms.
