We are students of MGSS Moka ( Mahatma Gandhi Secondary School OF MOKA IN MAURITIUS). Yesterday was 2nd October, as every year my school celebrate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi by the aim to spread the teachings of the Mahatma for a better fairy world without violence and full with peace and friendship. 2nd October is also known as the day of non-violence by the United Nations. So yesterday our school welcomed approximately a hundred of disable and old people among which some were abandoned by their children. It was a very emotional day for us (the students, teaching and non-teaching staffs). The guests were entertained by a cultural show which included traditional indian dances, prayers, singers. The amazing parts was when dumb students of a dumb school gave a shocking dance performance on the stage and the public gave a standing ovation and secondly a disable sang a very heart-touching song. The girl will be soon singing in Paris during a UNESCO concert. After the memorial cultural show, the guest were guided by the students of my school holding their hands with lots of love for lunch in a classroom. The classroom was very well decorated by volunteers. The guests were served briani ( a very famous eastern dish) accompanied with a traditional chutney and cucumber salad. The guest were gifted flowers and many other useful things which were bought from the money collected by donations from people. Then at last all the students gathered and the talented boys played famous Mauritian instruments including jiambe and ravane ending in a beautiful sega and all the guest gladly danced with our students.
