Water is health. Clean hands can save a life. Water is nature. Ecosystems lie at the heart of the global water cycle. Water is Urbanization. Every week one million people move into cities. Water is industry. More water is needed to manufacture a car than a swimming pool. Water is energy. Water and Energy are inseparable friends. Water if food. To produce a steak you need 15000 liters of water. Water is equality. Everyday women spend million of hours carrying water. World Water day is celebrated every year on the 22 of March all across the world. The day was established to be celebrated as an annual event in the year 1993 by the decision of the United Nations General Assembly. This Campaign was declared as a World Day for Water to be celebrated on this date to increase the awareness of people about the importance, need, conservation of water. People are encouraged to listen and understand the water issues. Water is a finite and irreplaceable resource that is fundamental to human well-being. It is only renewable if well managed. Today, more than 1.7 billion people live in river basins where depletion through use exceeds natural recharge, a trend that will see two-thirds of the world's population living in water- stressed countries by 2025. Water can pose a serious challenge to sustainable development but managed efficiently and equitably, water can play a key enabling role in strengthening the resillience of social, economic and environmental systems in the light of rapid and unpredictable changes. World water day, is a day to celebrate, a day to change and a day to prepare. It is celebrated by organizing variety of events and activities such as visual art, theatrical and musical celebrations of water, excursions, distributing messaged through TV and radio channels or internet, educational events based on the importance of clean water and conservative measure, competitions and so many activities. Today, the Loretto College of Curepipe is proud to say that for the past years we have not missed to celebrate this special day. A short video, was prepared by the Form 5 members of the LCC GO GREEN CLUB and presented to the whole school. In this Video, the importance of water was shown and it emphasized on how lucky we are, to have water at our reach. Living in a Multicultural country, the Upper six students prepared a sketch to show the importance of water in their respective religions : Christians, the Baptism, Muslims, the ablutions and Hindus, the sacred water- dance. Furthermore, stickers with the symbol representing water was distributed to commemorate the World Water Day 2015 and a prayer was said, to thank nature for giving us water.

End of the land, the sea boundary, we call it as “gepul(tidal flats)” “Gepul”(tidal flat) is a combined word, “pul” which means a wide field, and “ge” which means the place river or water comes in and goes out November 15, 2014 in front of Ewha Womans' University Cultural Center, we took a bus headed for the Seosan Ojiri. Meanwhile, I was not aware there was a sea town. This town is very small and there were no facilities for convenience at all. The place reminds me of the childhood memories. I’ve been this west coast often before, and with some tools, I explored Jebudo tidal flat and catched many shells. . Anyway, at this time, it was foreshore marine biological research participation program. It was started with listening to the explanation of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and Ocean marine ecosystem Dr. Kim Tae-won. Our plan was this. Observing the creatures that don’t act when the water is high because of many predators. These creatures do their work after the water level is low. How the organisms that live in the tidal flats was to investigate the living creatures living on tidal flats that connects the upper and lower observation and find its mark. In this exploration, I was so impressed to the activity so called the non-intrusive activities. Observing carefully just with hands and to be returned, not by using of artificial tools that could cause some damages to the living organisms on tidal flats. And a little regret about my old days. Why did I pick some matsogeum(kind of salt) to spread out for catching some shell. Now I know that could be a wrong way. Traces of barnacles were beautiful. And we found Sora made some specially amazing past look. Sora was drawing very sharp lines as they are moving on foreshore. And we discovered several unknown creatures, so we spent time for searching their name in the book. Some of us did fall in tidal flat. It was painful to get their feet out of line, but also playful. And after listening to Sanha Kim, the Provost's words, I felt sorry for a moment. Because we could hit the mischievous creature to the injury or death. . One of my friend Na Hyun said it was the time to think of the importance of a habitat living place watching the living organism in rubber clothes abandoned to the idea of a habitat important. I agree with her. I learned the importance of habitat protection through this exploration of biological activity Observing the animal's behavior is what we need to do. However, I realized this saying deeply. The behaviors of all animals was determined by animals themselves.. Seongnamdong Middle School 2 Baik SeungHyeop

For the weekend of the Republic Day, around 1500 young people discovered that they could make a difference and collected 9000 litres of trash from the lungs of Bangalore. The Youth Development Program, an initiative of FSL India gathered 60 volunteers and organised a campaign to keep lalbagh clean. The Keep Lalbagh Clean campaign, now in its fourth edition, attempts to get visitors to the park to contribute 20 min of their time to pick up trash and clean the park. Through this, the volunteers hope to change attitudes and bring a sense of ownership of their public spaces. A participant said: “ When I saw all the trash I felt helpless, and what was worse, hopeless. But once I started picking up trash with my blue garbage bag I was surprised to see how everyone from small children to adults were happy to pick up something and put it in my bag for nothing more than a smile and a thank you”. The YDP is an initiative of FSL made to spread the word of volunteering, empowering youth to be the change that they want to see in the world. Being run entirely by the youth of Bangalore, voluntarily, it aims at introducing new soft skills and training youth to host workshops and projects. A core member said, “ It was uplifting to see so many people who were willing to work together to make the world a better place.”
