World Conference on Sport and the Environment
Vancouver Convention and Exhibition centre,
March 29 - 31 2009, Vancouver, Canada

The CN-NET award is presented to the Mayor of Vancouver, Gregor Robertson by Amy Fraenkel, RONA Director at the World Conference on Sport and Environment.

The World Conference on Sport and the Environment is a joint project of the International Olympic Committee and the United Nations Environment Programme. Under the main theme, Innovation and Inspiration - Harnessing the Power of Sport for Change, the event focused on two conference tracks: Sport for Environmental Solutions and Sport for Sustainable Living.

The conference took place in Vancouver and provided a timely opportunity for the global community to come together and recognize the progress being made in staging more sustainable sporting events; and to encourage cooperation and further development of environmental initiatives relating to sport.
