To address existing and emerging issues in relation to the ozone layer, key strategies and policies are in place to facilitate a coordinated and effective approach in dealing with these challenges, and to encourage and ensure internationally agreed upon targets and goals are met.
The Ozone Secretariat, located at UNEP headquarters in Nairobi, serves as the Secretariat for both the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer and the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.
