To mark World Environment Day and celebrate the earth charters “birthday”, the Environmental Citizenship Programme is organizing activities that include: a movie, presentation of a song, poetry and a workshop. Over 200 young people are expected to participate during the event.

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2006, the Kainat Foundation is organizing a number of activities involving children and youth from different schools in Qatar and the GCC countries in collaboration with Friends of the Environment Centre and other government agencies such as the Supreme Council for Environment and Natural Resources. They include: poster, painting, photography, web design and drawing exhibitions, as well as essay, poem, slogan, greeting card and collage competitions.
