The Communications (CETA) programme supports our pollution (AMEP) and marine biodiversity (SPAW) programmes in the design, maintenance and dissemination of information. It also promotes the work of the Caribbean Environment Programme and manages our websites and social media.
Coordination
CETA assists in the development and dissemination of promotional items and information. Our website provides information under the Publications and Resources section that includes technical reports, information on member states, publications, fact sheets, infographics, radio programmes, videos, information on small grants, databases and general information on marine and coastal issues.
Our website is updated on a regular basis making it continuously current to regional and global issues of relevance to the Wider Caribbean Region and maintaining links with complementary websites of regional, national and sub national bodies.
CETA provides support to the convening of our technical and intergovernmental meetings and coordinates the preparation and dissemination of final meeting reports. These can be found under Meetings and Events.
We coordinate responses to requests for information and external surveys and assist with the coordination of our Internship Programme. Our Intern's Blog can be used to learn from the experiences of past interns and gives deeper insight of our work through the eyes of upcoming young professionals.
Within the SPAW sub-programme, CaMPAM has developed an email list and forum that disseminates information relevant to MPA scientists and practitioners such as grants and jobs opportunities; requests of information; conference announcements; new web sites; webinars; new reports, books and tools; request for proposals; research information; etc.
CaMPAM List disseminates messages from other relevant Internet Lists and web sites and all messages are archived and readily accessible to subscribers. In addition, CaMPAM coordinates and sponsors sessions and workshops at the Annual Meetings of the Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institutes, where fishers and MPA managers discuss emergent issues, present papers and get exposed to the latest news on marine science in the Wider Caribbean and the world. A virtual library with several dozen freely accessible publications can be browsed by title and their pdf files downloaded.
