Hosted by The Government of Jamaica through the Centre for Marine Sciences, University of the West Indies Kingston, Jamaica, the Interregional Workshop on the Use of Nuclear Techniques for Sargassum Control has the following objectives:-

  • Current over view of Sargassum blooms in the Caribbean Sea. Basic training on nuclear and isotopic applications to address the Sargassum challenge, such as
    • Stable isotopes
    • Radionuclides
    • Contaminant monitoring (metals, organic pollutants, radionuclides and microplastics)
  • Specify and adapt activities in SIDS under project INT0093
