The Eleventh Meeting of the Contracting Parties (COP) to the Protocol Concerning Specially Protected Areas and Wildlife (SPAW) in the Wider Caribbean Region is scheduled for July 27, 2021. Due to the continued spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, UNEP Cartagena Convention Secretariat will host this meeting virtually.

CEP was established in 1981 as part of the Regional Seas Programme in recognition of the importance and value of the Wider Caribbean Region’s fragile and vulnerable coastal and marine ecosystems including endemic plants and animals.
