Ms. Maydene Campbell, Senior Staff Assistant to the Coordinator, since 2022, came to the United Nations Environment Programme with a wealth of experience. With 19 years of diplomatic experience as a Regional Administrative Specialist and Trust Fund Manager for Jamaica and Haiti with the United States Department of Agriculture within the United States Embassy, Ms. Campbell also served as an Administrative Supervisor at the Secretariat of the University of the West Indies, Mona. At the same time, she served as the Deputy Program Manager for Praise Jamaica Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on solution-oriented behavior change programs for school-aged children.
Ms. Campbell also brought with her extensive project management experience, not only from her non-profit workplace, but also through the Diocese of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, where she continues to serve as an Associate Evangelist in the Church Army. Maydene preaches regularly at her church and has forayed into project work extensively through the church to empower children and youth and create safe spaces while managing corporate donated resources.
She has described working with the United Nations as her dream job and continues to explore ways to bring innovative solutions to the business environment as the Senior Staff Assistant to the Head of the organization, a job she enjoys.
