Gustavo Alvarado is the Technical Specialist for the CReW+ Project in the United Nations Environment Programme, Cartagena Convention Secretariat.
Mr. Alvarado holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Costa Rica and a Master’s in Sanitary Engineering from UNESCO-IHE in the Netherlands, and has over 29 years of experience in managing, designing, constructing, and operating drinking water and wastewater development projects in the public, private, and international sectors.
As a WaSH project manager, Mr. Alvarado understands the balance between the cost, the quality, and the best available technology of the implemented infrastructure, achieving the project results within the expected time. His experience in managing complex situations with stakeholders has been fundamental in his success in a large variety of projects.
