Alison Christie is a multi-award winning Senior Integrated Marketing Communications Strategist/Expert, Communications Coach, International Management Specialist, and Project Risk Management Advisor. With extensive experience across multiple sectors, she has orchestrated successful marketing communications and visibility programmes geared towards improving and saving lives for international organizations such as the World Bank, Inter-American-Development Bank (IDB), St John, and various UN agencies.
A Board Member of the National Resuscitation Council of Jamaica, she has also successfully held several leadership posts at the national and international levels. These include Executive Director for the Order of St John, (St John Ambulance Jamaica); twice elected President for the Public Relations Society of Jamaica (PRSJ ); Director at Large for the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Canada District 2; Vice President for IABC Caribbean; Director of the Caribbean Institute of Media and Communications (CARIMAC) Advisory Board at the University of the West Indies (UWI); Executive Member of the United Nations Association of Jamaica as well as Director of the Council of Voluntary Social Services in Jamaica.
Her work in the industry has been recognized nationally and internationally. Apart from being awarded multiple scholarships from several international bodies, she copped several IDB Spot Awards for outstanding strategic communications and events management and programming; IABC’s Award for pioneering work in the Caribbean in Public Relations; Inter-American Foundation Award for the IDB’s Programme in Corporate Social Responsibility; PRSJ multiple Awards of Excellence, and Merit for various Strategic Communications, Events Management, and Change Management initiatives.
Passionate about dance theatre and the creative arts, she received the UWI Dance Society Award for outstanding service in public relations and has been honoured as Patron of the Company Dance Theatre (Jamaica).
Her interests include international affairs, public diplomacy, technology, and the environment. A lover of the sea, she also enjoys swimming, and snorkeling.
