Coordinator of UNEP's Cartagena Convention Secretariat and Caribbean Environment Programme


Biography

Mr. Corbin is responsible for the Convention’s 2023-2030 Regional Strategy focused on Governance, Marine Pollution, Marine Biodiversity, Knowledge Management and Resource Mobilization. He also  manages the Secretariat’s Communication, Education, Training and Awareness  Sub-Programme.

A Saint Lucian national,  he holds a Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in Chemistry and Biology, postgraduate training in environmental toxicology, environmental negotiations and diplomacy,  project and programme management certification. 

Prior to joining UNEP, he represented the Government of Saint Lucia in regional and international negotiations including on oceans, marine pollution, and sustainable development of Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

Mr. Corbin was awarded the 2008 winner of the UNEP Baobab Staff Awards in the Professional Service Award Category. He has authored and co-authored several peer reviewed publications on oceans governance, pollution, environmental health, monitoring and analysis. He has also co-chaired UNEP’s Anti-Racism Task Force.

In his spare time, he enjoys sports, the beach, listening to music and spending time with family.
