Issa Kigongo serves as Information Systems Assistant. In this role, he supports the Secretariat and its Sub-Programmes in functions in the areas of Information Systems management & maintenance. He ensures seamless IT operations by managing servers, maintaining websites, troubleshooting system performance issues, and optimizing IT infrastructure. His expertise in end-user technical support, network security, and device configuration guarantees a dependable and secure digital environment.
Issa a national of Uganda, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from Sikkim Manipal University, India, and multiple industry standard certifications, including CCNA, CCNP, MCSA among others.
Prior to joining UNEP Cartagena Convention Secretariat, he worked with the United Nations Office in Nairobi (UNON), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi, NCR Corporation and Wärtsilä Finland.
Issa is passionate about the Environment and leveraging ICT for sustainability. He enjoys staying at the forefront of emerging technological advancements in the ever-evolving tech landscape.
