Michelle Bachelet: Champion of the Earth 2017 for Policy Leadership

Michelle Bachelet, President of Chile, is UN Environment Champion of the Earth 2017, for outstanding leadership in creating marine protected areas and boosting renewable energy.

The Champions of the Earth award, the UN’s highest environmental honour, recognizes outstanding leaders from government, civil society and the private sector whose actions have a transformative impact on the environment.
