Regional Training Workshop on Marine and Coastal Spatial Planning

The regional training workshop is organized jointly with the Blue Solutions Initiative (a partnership between UNEP, GIZ, GRID-Arendal and IUCN, funded by the German Ministry of Environment) to advance marine and coastal spatial planning in the East Asian Seas region. The training will use interactive practical exercises to examine different elements of an ecosystem-based marine and coastal spatial planning process, in particular for protecting blue economy assets and their climate resilience. The training will support the establishment of a community of practice across COBSEA countries, providing a collaboration platform to be utilized beyond the event.

In order to provide sufficient space for participants from COBSEA countries while enabling an interactive format, the regional training will be offered on two occasions: 2-6 November 2020 and 16-20 November 2020. Three participants per COBSEA country will have the opportunity to attend the regional training.
