This publication issued by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) funded project: Addressing Marine Plastics – A Systemic Approach. The publication recommends actions that need to be taken by different stakeholders and sectors where plastic waste is substantial and impacts on the environment are high. Recommendations include systemic actions along the plastic value chain, including material engineering, design of product and business models, consumer behaviour, waste management (collection, sorting, recycling and disposal), as well as crosscutting actions.
The Coordinating Body on the Seas of East Asia (COBSEA) oversees the implementation of the East Asian Seas Action Plan.
