68th GEF Council

                                                         68th GEF Council | 16-20 December 2024 

Representatives of the Global Environment Facility's recipient and donor countries will meet virtually from December 16-20 to discuss allocating over $650 million for managing chemical pollutants, climate adaptation, and other ecological challenges. This includes $554 million from the GEF Trust Fund, $92 million from the Least Developed Countries Fund, and $12 million from the Special Climate Change Fund.

The meeting will also review the progress of the new Global Biodiversity Framework Fund, with a focus on expanding support for Indigenous- and community-led environmental stewardship.
