Addressing the climate emergency requires effective mitigation, adaptation and disaster risk-reducing actions. It is critical to guard against risk-blind planning, particularly to avoid maladaptation, and a comprehensive approach to risk management is therefore needed. This session will provide key recommendations on the benefits, needs, challenges and opportunities for expanding integrated planning and implementation on adaptation and disaster risk-reduction. The event will explore key questions, such as: why is an integrated approach to disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation important? what are some good practices across countries for integrated approaches? What advantages does integrated planning offer?
