Objective

To revise and better incorporate the decisions and work programmes of the Conference of the Parties of the Convention on Biological Diversity {CBD} into the existing National Biodiversity Strategy (NBS) to make it conform to the work programme of the CBD and the 2010 targets set by the CBD; to finalize the existing draft Action Plan to facilitate the implementation of the National Strategy and to come up with a draft National Policy paper on biological diversity. ; 18. To develop a home grown National Clearing House Mechanism (CHM) in order to provide more and improved information on Ghana´s biodiversity, for public awareness, and technical and scientific cooperation both within Ghana and with partner countries, taking into consideration the checklist of recommended criteria issued by the CBD in 2005.; 19. To undertake capacity and needs assessment for biodiversity conservation activites in Ghana in the following areas:

a) In situ and Ex situ conservation
b) Taxonomy
c) Agricutural biodiversity
d) İmplementation of incentive measures
e) invasive species
f) Access to genetic resources and benefit sharing (ABS)
g) Preservation and maintenance of biodiversity related to indigenous and local communities
