Elca supports the development, management and implementation GEF Climate Change Enabling Activities Portfolio. She has 13 years’ work experience in Environment and Natural Resource Management. She is currently supporting 85 countries in meeting their reporting obligation under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) through preparation of National Communications, Biennial Update Reports and Biennial Transparency Reports.
Prior to Joining UNEP in 2014, Elca worked with an NGO as a Project Officer in charge of Environmental Governance where her main role was to undertake policy and advocacy work on Environment and Natural Resource Management among local communities in Kenya. Elca is Kenyan and holds a Master of Arts in Development Studies with Specialization in Environment and Agrarian Studies from Erasmus University, Rotterdam.
