Fatma Twahir is an Administrative Officer of the GEF Climate Mitigation unit (CMU).
She is responsible for the Financial and Administrative Management of the Unit. She has extensive experience and knowledge in Budget and Finance, with over 30 years working both in the private sector and the UN.
Fatma has been with UNEP since March 2018 to date and with UNON, Budget and Financial Management Service (BFMS) for 15 years. Prior to joining the UN, she worked with Proctor & Gamble (Kenya) Ltd and Firestone (EA) Ltd (now part of Sameer Industrial Park) as a Financial Analyst and Internal Auditor, respectively. Fatma is a Kenyan and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounts from the University of Nairobi and is Certified Public Accountant.
