Jessica Troni is Senior Programme Officer responsible for the UN Environment-Global Environment Facility Climate Change Adaptation portfolio.
Jessica has more than 20 years of experience in environment and development policy, and has worked on climate change adaptation programming in the UN for the last 11 years. She served as a UNDP Regional Technical Adviser for Adaptation for the East and Southern African Region between 2007 and 2014 and for the UK Department for International Development Headquarters from 2003 to 2007 as the adaptation policy lead and as the UK representative in the EU delegation to the UNFCCC for 4 years where she was responsible for negotiating the CoP Decision for the Least Developed Countries Fund among other agenda items. Jessica started her career as an Overseas Development Institute Fellow, posted in Zanzibar as a junior economist in the Commission for Lands and Environment from 1995 to 1997.
Jessica holds a MSc degree in Public Policy and Management from the School of African and Oriental Studies, University of London, an MSc Degree in Environmental and Resource Economics from the University of London and a BA Honours degree in Economics and Spanish from the University of Wales.
