Julien is responsible for UNEP’s portfolio of GEF-funded climate change mitigation projects in Africa, worth over US$ 50 million of GEF grants.
He currently oversees the development, implementation and evaluation of over 30 national projects across 20+ countries in areas such as sustainable urban development, energy efficiency, net-zero decarbonization, electric mobility, and climate transparency.
Julien has more than 15 years of project management experience in the energy and environment sectors. He has worked across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, both in international organizations and in the private sector.
Julien is a French national and holds a degree in Civil Engineering and Urban Development, as well as a Master’s in Public Affairs.
