Biography

Marcellus supports the GEF climate change mitigation enabling activities projects.

 

He provides programme/ technical support to UNEP supported developing countries to help them meet their reporting obligations under the United Nations Framework convention on climate change (UNFCCC). He gives guidance to countries’ project teams in preparing project proposals, implementation plans and supports the implementation of the projects to completion. Previously, Marcellus has been involved in environmental planning and governance- coordinating preparation of county state of environment report, five-year county environment action plan and implementation of environmental policies and regulations. He has also undertaken consultancy assignments on environmental audits and impacts assessments of high-risk projects. Marcellus is a national of Kenya and holds a master’s in international relations with over 7 years’ experience in environmental and related assignments. He draws his work experience from UNEP and the National Environment Management Authority.
