The Overall Goal of Syrian implementation of National Biosafety Framework project is that by the end of this project, Syria has in place a comprehensive, workable and transparent national biosafety framework, in line with its national needs and priorities as well as its international obligations.

Over the past three decades, the GEF has provided more than $22 billion in financing and mobilized another $120 billion for more than 5,000 national and regional projects.
