At the third meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Minamata Convention, the UNEP Global Mercury Partnership Area on Mercury releases from coal combustion organized a side event entitled: “Quick guides to mercury from coal with focus on the challenge for Asia” (26 November 2019, Geneva).
Through this event, moderated by the co-leads of the Partnership Area, Lesley Sloss (International Energy Agency - Clean Coal Centre) and Peter Nelson (Macquarie University – Australia), presenters offered a snapshot on the situation of mercury from coal burning, providing knowledge and science on mercury monitoring, control measures and abatement technologies.
