UN Environment Chemicals and Health Branch is developing and populating a databank on chemicals analyses, in particular on persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and mercury (Hg). This databank, which serves as a repository of laboratories , aims to assist stakeholders and countries on technical - scientific issues related to monitoring, inventories, National, Regional and Internationals analytical capacities , as well as the broader issues related to the sound management of chemicals and waste.
The overall goal of the UNEP Global Mercury Partnership is to protect human health and the environment from the releases of mercury.
