UNEP Chemicals recently implemented a project to assist countries in the environmentally sound management of mercury waste. One of the projects related to a mercury cell chlor-alkali facility in Uruguay.
This checklist was developed by the WCC Expert, Mr. Gilberto Marronato, and was applied in the pilot project on mercury management “Chloralkali Project – Uruguay” in April 2011.

The general objective of this project is to identify and manage mercury emissions in Chile in order to protect human health and the environment.
