This publication provides an overview of integrated coastal and river basin management in the NOWPAP region. It covers topics such as the experiences of ICARM planning and implementation in the region, and national and international policies and laws related to ICARM, and concludes with a description of proposed national ICARM-related activities and priorities, and possible areas for improvement in the region.
Implementation of NOWPAP contributes to the Global Programme of Action for the Protection of the Marine Environment from Land-based Activities (GPA) in the Northwest Pacific region.
