Ninth Intergovernmental Meeting of the Northwest Pacific Action Plan

The Ninth IGM (2-4 November 2004, Busan, Republic of Korea) decided to develop a project to deal with marine litter. The Ninth IGM also agreed to hold an Intersessional Workshop around mid-2005 in the Republic of Korea to discuss new directions of work of NOWPAP RACs, the marine litter project and the increased contributions to the NOWPAP Trust Fund.

Sanya Hainan Province, (People’s Republic of China), 5-7 November 2003 

The 8th IGM (5-7 November 2003, Sanya, the People’s Republic of China) approved the text of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Regional Cooperation on Preparedness and Response to Oil Spills in the Marine Environment of the Northwest Pacific Region and the related Regional Oil Spill Contingency Plan for the NOWPAP region.
