Supporting Countries in Africa to Achieve Sustainable Development
Africa’s population, 1.2 billion in 2019, is expected to reach 2.8 billion in 2060. Adopting sustainable consumption and production (SCP) practices is imperative if the region is to achieve sustainable development.
SWITCH Africa Green is a programme developed in 2013 to support countries in Africa in achieving sustainable development by transitioning to an SCP-based inclusive green economy. It provides opportunities for the private sector to move to more resource-efficient, environmentally sound business practices that also increase profitability, create green jobs and reduce poverty.
