The Mediterranean Action Plan of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP/MAP)-Barcelona Convention Secretariat will take part in several events and meetings taking place in the context of the IUCN World Conservation Congress (Marseille, France, 3-11 September 2021).
UNEP/MAP, including the Coordinating Unit and several MAP Components, are joining forces with regional organizations to share with the world conservation community the latest nature conservation initiatives in the Mediterranean, reflect on the challenges and identify solutions. Several joint events will be taking place in the Mediterranean Solutions stand with the support of the MAVA Foundation.
The official programme of the Mediterranean Solutions Stand includes several sessions involving representatives of the UNEP/MAP system. It also includes an event on 4 September 2021 titled “High time to act for our Mediterranean”, which is coordinated by the UNEP/MAP Regional Activity Centre SPA/RAC.
