This publication issued by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) funded project: Addressing Marine Plastics – A Systemic Approach. The publication recommends actions that need to be taken by different stakeholders and sectors where plastic waste is substantial and impacts on the environment are high.
The meeting was technical in nature and provided an opportunity to exchange views, discuss experiences and provide technical input in relation to the work of COBSEA. Findings and recommendations arising from the meeting further informed and guided COBSEA’s efforts in the immediate future.
The aim of this report is to provide an overview, with good examples and practical guidance to enhance the role and contribution of regional seas to the SDG follow-up and review process, in line with UN General Assembly and UNEA resolutions and Global Meetings for the Regional Seas Conventions and Action Plans.
