Organized by the Major Group Facilitating Committee, the Multistakeholder dialogue brought together representatives of Member States, Major Groups and the Private Sector for a discussion during the high-level segment of the Assembly. The event provided a unique opportunity for Major Groups and Stakeholders to interact with high-level decision makers.
The objective of the Multistakeholder dialogue was to foster a comprehensive discussion on achieving effective multilateralism in addressing the interconnected challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution. The dialogue explored synergies between these three planetary environmental crises and technology, aiming to identify actionable strategies for sustainable solutions.
The structure of the dialogue was as follows:
- Welcome and introduction of the event by the Moderators
- “Fire side chat” with the guest speakers
- Panel discussion with 5 representatives of Major Groups and Stakeholders
- Online quiz/survey conducted with the audience led by the moderators
- Interventions from the floor by Member States and Stakeholders
- Closing remarks by the Co-chair of the Major Groups and Facilitating Committee
A summary of the Dialogue was presented at the closing plenary meeting by one of the dialogue participants. The Multistakeholder dialogue was interpreted in all six official languages and was webcast.
