Challenges of scaling up and financing EbA session at 7th EbA Knowledge Day

The challenges of scaling up and financing EbA session, hosted by IUCN and UNEP, was held at 18:20- 18:50 CEST / 12:20- 12:50 EDT (Round 2, Session 1) on Wednesday, 26 May 2021 at the 7th EbA Knowledge Day.

The session focused on interactive discussion on barriers to implementing and financing EbA as well as innovative and catalytic approaches and methods to best overcome them, in different regions of the world. Another highlight of the session was about the Global EbA Fund, as one of the ways to provide rapid and targeted support through seed capital to overcome the barriers.

The 7th EbA Knowledge Day, entitled Overcoming Barriers to Adaptation: Employing Innovative EbA Approaches to Upscale NbS, was a session for EbA policy makers, practitioners, donors and researchers. It was organized by the BMU-IKI funded and GIZ implemented Global Project Mainstreaming EbA in collaboration with IUCN under the FEBA network.
