Bangkok, Thailand Conference Climate change

This event, taking place at 10:30-11:30 (Tokyo time) on the 10th March, will welcome partners from all over the world to present the achievements of the Global Adaptation Network (GAN). As part of the APAN Forum, the event will mainly focus on perspectives coming from GAN’s partners and high-level representatives from different agencies.

At the 7th Asia Pacific Adaptation Network, the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) is co-leading the Nature-based Resilience Stream together with IUCN. Under this stream, the Global Adaptation Network is co-organizing two technical sessions: one on Planning and Processes with UNEP’s Regional Office for Asia Pacific, and another on Science and Assessments with UN Climate Change.

Groningen, Netherlands UN Day Climate change

2020 is internationally declared as the year of action. This year is intended to bring people together and take joint actions against climate change. On 25 January 2021, world leaders will meet online during the Climate Adaptation Summit to discuss climate adaptation, make agreements and turn to action. As host cities of the Global Center on Adaptation, both Groningen and Rotterdam are organizing various activities, including a Climate Adaptation Week, in the run-up to the Climate Adaptation Summit.

Bonn, Germany Conference Climate change

The 52nd sessions of the UNFCCC Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) and Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) were originally expected to convene in Bonn, Germany, from 1-11 June 2020. 

On 1 April 2020, the Secretariat announced that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 26th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 26), which was scheduled to take place in November 2020, would be postponed. The SB meetings were also postponed from June to October 2020.
