Founded in 2010, the Global Adaptation Network (GAN) provides a worldwide platform to distribute and exchange climate change adaptation knowledge. The secretariat of GAN is hosted by the UN Environment Programme in Nairobi. This anchoring within the UN system bestows GAN with a global reach, drawing on esteemed partnerships in the interests of building resilience. When cutting-edge adaptation solutions are developed, they must be shared with those who need them.
The development of the GAN involved a broad UNEP-facilitated consultative process, including an international consultation meeting and four regional consultations.
