Communication Specialist, Global Adaptation Network. Marcus Nield is an endlessly enthusiastic communication specialist for the Global Adaptation Network. Marcus is the longest-standing member of the GAN team. Despite a background in journalism and documentary filmmaking, he is a science nerd deep down. Marcus was offered a scholarship to study a Masters at the University of Oxford in his chosen field of Biodiversity, Conservation & Management. Marcus then worked as a freelance environmental journalist and documentary filmmaker until joining UNEP and GAN. Marcus has written articles for The Guardian, The Independent, and The Ecologist, and his documentaries have been watched widely online. In addition to his role with GAN, Marcus is UNEP’s communications coordinator for the Climate Change Adaptation Unit. In his spare time, he loves walking in nature, playing piano, and anything related to dogs!
