The Sixteenth International Conference On Mercury as a Global Pollutant (ICMGP-16 took place from 21 to 26 July 2024 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, Cape Town, in South Africa. The Partnership Area on Mercury Air Transport and Fate Research together with the Biodiversity Research Institute (BRI) organized on 4 November 2021 a side event on the Guidance on monitoring of mercury and mercury compounds to support the effectiveness evaluation of the Minamata Convention, in the margins of the first segment of the fourth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Minamata Convention (1 to 5 November 2021).
