How COVID-19 Pandemic Changes Waste Management

The COVID-19 crisis has seen an immense rise in the production of medical and hazardous waste. It is essential to ensure the proper handling and final disposal of these wastes to protect human health and the environment.

The Director of the UNEP IETC, Keith Alverson, describes the risks of inadequate management of medical waste and discusses the most appropriate possible solutions, in the journal Health Management, Volume 20 - Issue 4,2020.
