Supporting policies and programmes for enhanced NDC implementation & LTS
In 2022-2023, the NDC Action project in Colombia will focus on providing a portfolio of policies and programs for two priority sectors: energy efficiency in the commercial and industrial sector (mitigation actions) and Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Use (AFOLU) (adaptation actions). These sectors were prioritized by the government based on their emission reduction potential, social benefits, financial risk appetite, and alignment with national development goals.
Currently, with the support of the Colombian Business Association (ANDI) and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the NDC Action team created a roundtable to discuss and co-design programs that promote industrial energy efficiency. In relation to the AFOLU sector, the NDC Action team is assessing opportunities and priorities for supporting policies and initiatives that allow for the creation of a national market for forestry products.
