Supporting policies and programmes for enhanced NDC implementation & LTS development
The policies and programmes driving implementation of NDC in the industry and agriculture sectors were mapped and analysed by National Technical Institute experts to assess potential barriers, gaps and challenges with regard to implement sector-specific measures identified in the NDC Action Plan for 2021-2025. Moreover, to identify missing policies to support NDC implementation in each sector. Based on sector-specific policy assessments, concrete policy measures which can be introduced in each selected sector to support NDC Action Plan implementation was were identified and prioritised. The Project provides recommendations on integration of forest strip in arable land into “Billion Trees”, a national movement initiated by the President of Mongolia for agriculture sector, whereas integration of improving energy efficiency of motors and engines into short-term and mid-term policies and planning for industry sector.
